“Transition” began as a project for a sculpture course I was enrolled in. Initially just a gate, the project grew to include some fence panels to span the entryway into my backyard. It replaced a wood fence which had served as a barrier, but had been unappealing. The goal was to create a tasteful, open segue from the succulent-strewn front garden into the lusher cottage garden in the back.
